Destination Driftless: Niece Love

I remember exactly where I was sitting when my husband accidentally spilled the beans about my brother and his partner's pregnancy. My brother had wanted to wait and tell me in person. My husband, Mike, is not a good keeper of secrets. I merely asked how Parker, my brother, was doing when Mike returned from his kayak trip with him. Mike immediately said something like, "You know, don't you?!" I didn't have a clue. I thought he was going to say Parker and his girlfriend, Erin went and got married. When he said they were pregnant, I about fell off my chair with excitement. And now lovely Tula is here and she's already 6 months old. I will probably need a separate computer to store all of my photos of this little bean. One of my favorite things about her is how she studies your face. Her eye contact, this unique studied gaze, has become her signature, to me. Here are some of my recent favorites.
