On Our Anniversary

Two short years since we married and yet it feels like a lifetime has been crammed into those years.  The time has flown by but also has been filled with a lot of life. When I look back at the kids that we were in college, I realize how much has changed and how little has changed.

circa 1990

The things I liked about you then are the same things I like about you now.  You were a funny, nice, cute, liberal guy with great hiking and camping skills. The only thing that has changed is now I know your habits.  And I've realized you will never hang up my keys in a place where I can find them again. Other than that, I still love all these things about you.

My favorite things we did together in college, camping, hiking, biking, road trips and live music are still my favorite things now(though I'd trade out cabins for tents). And I would add summer road trips with the kiddos (slightly more exhausting now)!

So while we look, and maybe feel, a lot older now, and many things have changed, the most important things haven't changed. We are still the same people.  It's fun to look back and even better to look ahead.  And I look forward to living a lot of life with you.

Happy Anniversary, my husband.

  1. It takes a little bit of luck but I believe in destiny. The "signs" were there 20 or so years ago - and then you two faked me out for a time. So glad you found each other AGAIN.
